ExperienceAlthough I ultimately plan to go to medical school, teaching and tutoring are deep-seated passions of mine. I am drawn to medicine as well as teaching, because I feel the call to help others throughout my life. I have years of experience as both a volunteer and a private tutor, and I teach my students that if they work hard, they can excel in any academic or professional area. I reinforce students' hard work with positive feedback, so they develop confidence in their skills that will continue to motivate them outside of the classroom. It is also rewarding to me to watch students learn new subjects that they previously struggled with. As a tutor, I focus on chemistry (both general and organic), mathematics, biology, and physics. I have an interest in these subjects because they will be necessary in medical school, and also because, fortunately, I enjoy them. I want my students to see that hard work really can pay off, not only as they begin to score better on tests and in school, but as they continue with the rest of their lives as well. In my free time, I lead an active lifestyle and enjoy playing football and basketball and hiking. I also like to listen to music, hang out with friends, and play videogames when I get the chance.
