I started tutoring in middle school, and then tutored chemistry while I was in college and grad school. For 14 years, I've been an Upper School Science and Math teacher and a tutor at the same time. I tutor chemistry at all levels, physics, honors pre-calculus, AP environmental science, Earth science, and physical science. My favorites are chemistry, pre-calculus, and trigonometry. Other topics I cover include languages, English, vocabulary, and psychology and I provide summer tutoring and SAT test prep.My style is patient and I can discuss problems with students in various ways depending on how they learn. I expect students to explain what they don't know so I have a direction to go in. It takes practice and patience, but any student is able to learn a subject.I have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and minored in Spanish and physics as an undergrad at the University of Richmond, and, with a chemistry specialty, I have a Master of Science from the University of California - Los Angeles. Living in Chicago, Illinois, I can assist students one on one throughout the area. I enjoy hobbies such as reading science fiction and fantasy books, and watching sci-fi TV shows, when not working.
